2.) The visualization of this is good, but could use some more graphics to help with the visual connection from the pictures to the WebQuest.
Navigation
Navigation is
seamless. It is always
clear to the learner
what all the pieces are
and how to get to
them.
There are a few
places where the
learner can get
lost and not know
where to go next.
There are more

misplaced or
missing
images, badly
sized tables,
misspellings
and/or
grammatical
errors.
3.) Everything is right there in front and to the point. There is no follow round and go here and there to find something.

WebQuest best/worst

Best Webquests--------World of Shakespeare and Anti-Earthquake
Best means being crative and being able to understand and follow instead of jumping here and there.
Worst Webquests------Foreign Country Presentation and Waves and Sound
Worst means very confusing not being able to follow or comprehend. Basically everything is unclear.

WebQuest The Efficiency Expert

"Saving the Gorillas": This is a good presentation and has good links, but the facts about gorillas are not cared for from most people.
"World of Shakespeare": Strong presention giving that there is many facts out there for Shakespeare. there are many links to find all the information I need. Depending on the age group it might be difficult to come up with a performance with the language he used..
"Anti-Earthquake Designer": This project would take a alot of time, which could be spent on more educational time, but I must say it has excellent groupwork with learnding.
"Foreign Country Presentation": There isnt't that much help with this project through the webquest. I also noticed the organizing is everywhere, but the learning of the different countries is a good learning experience.

"Waves and Sound": There is alot of detail about this project and very confuseing with the specific questions. The major thing is, is that you dont know what the teacher wants you to learn.

Txt N twitter

I think that 140 characters is plenty to say what you need to say. It also helps your friends so they dont have to read a whole novel to understand whats going on. I have not altered anythong on a post due to its length, because their is always plenty  of characters to say what i need to say. I think both have impacted the way we all write. When using texting or twitter we have came up with a new but short language when talking through these chat sessions. I will say this even "tho" we talk like "dis" when we "tweet" and "txt", when it comes down to it we always catch "urslevs" on an assignment.

Myself and how I learn..

I always knew I was a visual learner but a new one that I found out was a kinesthetic learner. A kinesthetic learner basically is someone who learnes by hands on approach, trial and error, and lectures who give good examples. I feel that the description of myself throught the survey is accurate to an extent.

Website Credibility

The website i chose was dihydrogen monoxide. After reading over this site and clicking on some links, I  would never use this site for credible content. The site overall was very poorly put together and the advertisements and SPAM made me wonder if i should even log on to them. This page is organizations website, because of it ending in org. I think that the orginization could of dont a better job to get there opinions out and facts heard. The content in the beginning tell the reader that they are not trying to persuade anyone to their side, but then in the very next paragraph they are talking about how they are correct and people need to help them out in the process. So it seems to be they are trying to persuade people  to there site. In the end, I am not very sure what the content is really talking about, but I still would never use this site for factual information.

Edmodo and its beniefits...

I think Edmodo is a great idea for all students of all ages, because it helps them with there communication skills with one another through networking. The 11/12 year olds digital story was easy to follow and understand and went along with their story very well. Yes I would use microblogging tools and video conferencing, because it is very helpful with communication, socializing, and networking. The networking is a big thing now a days, becasue we all know that networking and technology is our future.

Writing/Edmodo

I believe the main basis of the kids changing there minds about writing is because they like to collaborate when they write. They also like how to recieve advice about their projects.

21st Century Writting

I agree that schools are not preparing students for the jobs of the 21st century, because anymore is all about computers and technology but there is still teachers ignoring technology and reading from a book. CONSTANTLY.Teachers are more worried about teaching out of a book then working on communication skills. Also test taking is a good example on how we prepare our students. For example, they are always section by section tests and not comprehensive. Life and everyday work is no in sections it's all about comprehensive.

:\ Obama :)

When Obama is sitting at his desk he looks serious, but in the same sense worried. This picture is cut off below the shoulders, so u can't see the the hands or fingers. You can however tell that the shoulders are shrugged tight, which makes you think that his hand are clinched in one another. His head is pondering and you can see that by his head cocked side ways and his eye are focused down. This picture is up close and personal, because you can see the concern on his face. His age is a middle aged man of the african native ethnicity. His clothing is casual and relaxed with his top button undone. He looks as if Obama is in a office, because you can see the books in the backround and you can tell he is sitting down. The camera angle in the photo is like I said earlier it is up close and personal.

When u look at the second photo it you can tell he is more relaxed by his walk and how is is walking as everything is ok. His eyes are open and walking with a smile as if someone told him good news about the oil spill. The distance is farther away and you can see is walk with convidence. The middle aged man of the african decent is wearing the same one button downed  dress shirt. The backround is on a ship at which was helping with the oil spill and he is walking away after it looks like he was delivered the good news. The angle of the camera was straight ahead and wide angled to see the environment around him.

Media and Traditional literacy

The only thing that I see that is similar between the two is that they both inform you of something. Media literacy will help to tell you about stereotypes and advertising about one another. Traditional lieracy consists of how it will help you in a positive way with internet/computer help.

http://www.readwritethink.org/classroom-resources/lesson-plans/critical-media-literacy-commercial-97.html

It supports the critical media literacy by looking past media literacy and start to understand how they single out and emphasize certain subjects.

15 Page Paper V.S. Digital Story

Yes I do believe a digital story can replace a 15 page research paper. I believe this because you put more effort in to creating something unique with a digital story. When writting a paper you find your information and reword it in your own words for 15 pages. Atleast with a digital story students wont get bored with all the animation that goes into it.

Texting, and Iming whats next?

No, my attitude towards the effects of digital media on language are that it doesn't effect our knowledge on how to say or spell words.

English and Texting may be spelled different, but it is the same thing....

No, it hasn't changed becuase like I said kids, teenagers, and young adults know how they have to talk in the classroom, with friends, or on a job. Their is a lot of short hand writing going on now more than ever, but when it comes down to it we all know how to talk and spell correctly.

Textbooks V.S. iPads

When first switching from textbooks to iPads you will be in debt at first, but as for yearly use you will be saveing more money then what you would spend on textbooks. Textbooks last about on average 5 years and after that it's time to purchase the same book once again. This doesn't even include new editions being printed every couple years. Yes, teaching can improve without a textbook infront of them, because if that is the case they would do more hands on activity then just sliding their finger along the words.

This is just one prime example of using textbooks, they dont even know the truth and we are being taught what is in them. If we were given iPads then we could ready it, but also look it up to find out what others say about the same thing. Instead, we see one thing and that is it, that is the correct answer no matter what is proven different.

Literacy = ???????

In my opinion, literate means to know and understand and comprehend what you read, write, hear, and say without any second guessing. Standerdized spelling and grammar is essential for productivity in a way, because if you see/hear someone say "wrud = what are you doing or omg = oh my God" it doesn't mean they are less knowledgable of the english language. This is only saying they are tring to speak or talk in less words.

Blogging (Positive/Negative)

Their is many benefits of blogging and one major benefit is working on communication skills to one another through a computer. I think the only big concern about blogging at a young age is that they might start using text language instead of proper english language. Another big plus about blogging at a young age is that we will be able to improve their computer knowledge starting young.
